Our Sturgeon Bay Local Favorites to Stock Your Vacation Kitchen

When we travel, we love trying out local restaurants, finding small shops to explore, and enjoying local food. If you’re like us and want to check out some of our local favorites…here’s a list of Sturgeon Bay local favorites to stock up your Bay Shore Inn suite kitchen.

Stock up on Sturgeon Bay Snacks

Renard's cheese curds

On your way into town, stop at Renard’s Cheese. They have complimentary cheese and wine tastings every day to help you find the perfect pairings to grab for the weekend. Our favorites are the morel and leek jack, the smoky bacon cheese spread, and any of their cheddars! Don’t forget to grab some fresh, squeaky cheese curds and some other goodies while you’re there.

For something sweet, stop by Door County Confectionery. Their fudge is hand-made in Door County, and don’t pass up the chocolate pecan bear paws.

Cheese, soup and family meals at Scaturo's

Don’t feel like cooking but don’t want to go out? Stop at Scaturo’s and grab one of their family meals that comes with an entrée, soup, and a loaf of bread for four. They also have a full bakery with bread and yummy sweets.

If you like to prepare your own meals, Marchant’s Meats has fresh, prime cuts of meat, 50 different kinds of brats, and a large deli section with pastas, potato salads, soups, and fresh pizzas.

Starting June 3rd and going through October 14th, you’ll be able to get fresh, local produce, specialty foods and flowers in downtown Sturgeon Bay at the Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market.

Start and End Your Day with Sturgeon Bay Drinks

to go cup of Door County coffee

Your Bay Shore Inn suite comes with an individual bag of Door County Coffee, but if you drink a lot of coffee or want to try some of their tasty flavors, head up to Door County Coffee just north of Sturgeon Bay. Our favorite is Heavenly Caramel!

When 5 o’clock hits…or earlier for that matter (It’s your vacation!), you might want an adult beverage, so stop at Madison Avenue Wine Shop. They carry products from our favorite local wineries and distilleries. If beer is more your drink of choice, head to Bridge Up Brewing and grab a pack of their Knee-High Cream Ale or their Stubborn Sturgeon (we just love that one’s name!). If one of their seasonal specialty brews is calling your name, they have crowlers and growlers filled right in the taphouse with what’s currently on tap.

Now that you know where to get our favorite local snacks, meal ingredients, and drinks, book your suite at Bay Shore Inn and start planning your vacation!
