Go Hiking

Feeling like exploring Door County’s terrain on foot? Visit Potawatomi State Park on the shore of Sturgeon Bay for 1,200 acres of gently rolling upland terrain, steep slopes, and rugged limestone cliffs. Pack a lunch and rest in their shelter or picnic along the south shoreline.

Stroll along Lake Michigan or on one of the many trails throughout the huge sand dunes and forest at Whitefish Dunes State Park. Visit the nature center which features year-round programs and exhibitions. You can also enjoy a picnic at the reservable picnic shelter that overlooks Lake Michigan.

Interested in ecological restoration? The Crossroads at Big Creek boasts four different trails through their 200-acre nature preserve, as well as a heritage garden.

Get on the Water

Take a kayak out on your own, or book some of the popular kayak tours hosted by Peninsula Kayak Company (they even offer a sunset tour). Not into kayaks? They also offer paddleboard rentals, as well as paddleboard yoga and basic paddleboard training.

Enjoy more group activities and private tours hosted by Cave Point Paddle and Pedal. Get the chills with a shipwreck tour, or paddle through Cave Point.

Distillery or Winery Tours

Take a tasty trip to Door County Distillery for tastings, cocktails, and tours! Stay a while and enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail or flight on their outside pavilion or sit back and enjoy the fireplace on a chillier day.

Have a larger group and want to have some boozy fun? Try the Sturgeon Bay’s Foxy Pedaler. Sip some cocktails and pedal the party bike while enjoying the sites of downtown Sturgeon Bay.
