Whether you are a regular visitor to Door County, or you’re planning your first trip, there is so much to see and do. Glide N.E.W. (Glide Northeast Wisconsin) has been operating one of the most unique experiences in Door County for nearly 15 years – guided Segway tours of some of the hottest spots on the peninsula.

Get up close and personal with places like Peninsula State Park, Sturgeon Bay’s Coast Guard station and Lighthouses, Sister Bay, and many more with professionally guided tours. Tour groups can range from four to 40 people, and tour lengths range from 50 minutes all the way up to their longest tour of five hours, the Washington Island Half-Day Tour.

There are very few limitations when it comes to riding a Segway. If a person can comfortably stand on a Segway for an extended period, they will be able to enjoy a Segway tour. All ages are welcome, and even encouraged to join in on the experience. Glide N.E.W. focuses on nature, history, and fun!

Training takes approximately 10 minutes and very little skill is required. Just stand, lean forward or backward to speed up and slow down, and left or right to turn. That’s it!

A Company with Door County Roots

Nick, owner of Glide N.E.W., started the company to spend more time in Door County during the summer, and it grew into a year-round, multi city tour operation.

Before becoming a full-time tour operator, Nick was teaching grade school in California where he lived with his wife. During the summer months they would travel to Door County to spend time with his wife’s family where she grew up, and he fell in love with the area.

Glide N.E.W. started with 11 Segway Personal Transporters and for the first eight years operated for 2 months during the summer, but as it became more popular Nick decided to follow his dream and move his family to Wisconsin and start giving tours full-time.

Glide N.E.W. does business as Segway the Door Tours, and Segway the Fox tours, giving guided tours in Door County, Green Bay, Fox Cities, and throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
